Penofin Exterior Wood Finish Application
Penofin transparent exterior finishes were formulated to safeguard the natural
beauty of wood and to prevent discoloration from the sun's ultraviolet rays.
Penofin resists stains and retards the bleeding of nails.
Application: Shake product well and/or stir thoroughly. Do not thin or
blend with other products. Do not apply in direct, hot sun.
Penofin 350 VOC product one-coat application process: Apply one
coat with brush or sprayer to a clean, dry, unfinished wood surface which
may be kiln dried or seasoned.
Penofin 550 VOC product two-coat application process: Apply two
coats with brush or sprayer to a clean, dry, unfinished surface which
may be kiln dried or seasoned. Two-coat applications require a minimum
of three hours drying time between applications.
Note: Do not overapply. Wipe off excess 30 minutes after coating
or excess oil will congeal on the surface and result in a tacky finish.
Surface is ready to use 12 hours after coatings.
Do not prepare surface with steel wool. When redwood, cedar, and other
woods are exposed to wet metal, a reaction with the tannic acid in the
wood may occur which can turn the wood dark upon subsequent exposure
to moisture.
Coverage: Coverage will vary depending upon the surface texture,
moisture content, and method of application. See label for more information.
Clean Up: Use paint thinner or mineral spirits.
Follow all label instructions carefully.
